True – we only list to the Top 10. As you know, there were plenty of juniors from Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Also, we mentioned in a previous article in the High School News section that Landon could be in the position that Prep was in for the past 5 or so years. Blasey is one of the reasons.

Mike Blasey, another Landon golfer, also finished T12 at 157, that just shows the talent the Bears’ roster has when their fourth player can perform that well, and he is only a freshman.

The second wcac spot seems to be up for grabs, as gonzaga looks very tough to beat right now. This should set up the long awaited matchup of Landon vs Gonzaga, the area’s two best golf teams.

Agreed. Landon could be in the position that Prep was in for the last 4-5 years. It will be interesting to see how the Private Schools Championship plays out.

Landon certainly lived up to their undefeated record, five players broke 80 and made the all conference team on a very tough congressional course. Landon has the depth as their fourth, fifth and sixth players all made the all conference team.

Landon just recently played Ryken and won 199 to 237, im not sure if any team can beat landon or if any player can beat Brent Bubes.

There are a lot of players that are left out in this conversation. The Bowling girls at Ryken are very good and are not listed. Stephen Washington from Bishop Mcnamara is a terrific player as well and he has not lost a match yet this year going 3-0-3. Also from Bishop Mcnamara is Garrett Tucker who is 4-1-1 and had an amazing comeback against good counsel this past week.

scoring averages matter, but brent is the number one player on the number one team in the area, Landon is 13 and 0 this season just beating st mary’s ryken, currently tied for first in the wcac, Keegan may have played better, but he certainly has not played as many rounds. I would say Brent gets the nod because he is on a better team and he has played more rounds.
