Hulede Posts a First-Round 75 at AJGA Preseason Junior

April 21, 2012 by

John Hulede (2013) of Mitchellville, MD put up a 75 (35-40) at the AJGA Preseason Junior at Innisbrook.  He played to par on the front nine with two birdies and two bogies.  He made the turn and birdied the par-5 10th only to follow it with a triple on the par-4 11th.  The back nine wasn’t as kind to him as the front but he managed to keep the round together to find a spot tied for 20th after the first day of play.  He is 6 back from co-leaders Zach Arrington (Vestavia Hills, AL) and Samuel Hebert St. Thomas, Ontario).  John is a junior at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, DC.

This is a 2-day, 36-hole stroke play tournament.  Practice round on Friday with tournament play following on Saturday and Sunday.  The are 96 competitors (Boys and Girls division) scheduled to compete.  There are 12 states represented as well as Canada, Ecuador and Puerto Rico fielding competitors.

The Preseason Junior at Innisbrook is one of 10 events held as part of the IMG Golf Academy Preseason Series. The IMG Golf Academy Preseason Series is a series designed specifically for first-time AJGA members or those members who have not yet been accepted to an AJGA Open event in the current calendar year and/or the previous calendar year.
