Denny McCarthy of Burtonsville, MD (30th seed) won his first round match, 2 and 1, against 3rd seed Niclas Carlsson of Enebyburg, Sweden.  Play was suspended for over 2 hours this morning before resuming. Read more

CAGT Falls Road Open

The Capital Area Golf Tour (CAGT) completed the Falls Road Open yesterday.  The CAGT has one more tournament to round out its inaugural fall season.  The season culminates at Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club, a Gary Player-designed course located in Leesburg, VA. Read more

Polo Golf Junior Classic Fields Four From DC Metro Area

The 2009 Polo Junior Classic will be held November 21 through November 27, 2009.  This year’s tournament is being played at PGA National Resort and Spa ~ Champion and Haig Courses located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.  The tournament field consists of 156 of the absolute best junior players in the world.  Players from 11 countries and 24 states are in the field.  This tournament is the big daddy of junior tournaments.  One needs only to look at previous results and champions to figure that one out. CAGT’s Open at Herndon Centennial

Juniors competing in the Capital Area Golf Tour’s Open at Herndon Centennial this past weekend found the course a little longer than usual due to the wet conditions.  The DC Metro area had several days of heavy rain leading up to the tournament.  Read more
