Plantations Junior Golf Tour Returns to Northern Virginia

Reston National Golf Course (Reston, VA) will be the host of the latest Plantations Junior Golf Tour event to be held in Northern Virginia. The two-day, 36-hole stroke play tournament will take place on October 31 and November 1. The event will feature many junior players (girls and boys) from all around the DC Metro area. This event will feature two Girls Divisions, 8-9 and 12-14. There will be five Boys Divisions, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, and 16-19. First tee time is scheduled for 10AM.
If you find yourself in the area on either day make sure to get out there and show your support for junior golf.
Urbana, Middletown Win Maryland Public Schools State Championship

The Class 4A/3A and 2A/1A State Championships are in the books. Urbana H.S. (327-325, 652) finished eight strokes better than the 2008 Champion Churchill H.S. to win the Class 4A/3A Championship. Urbana’s Chris DiSciullo led his team with a consistent 78-79 (157) that earned him a tie for 9th place in the medalist competition. Diana Brown led all Churchill players with 78-76 (154) that earned her Medalist in the Girls Division. Read more

Westfield Wins State Title

Westfield has done it. They have brought the Virginia AAA State title home. And, after having to make comeback victories in both the District and Region Championships, they jumped out front on the first day and never looked back. Leading by two strokes over Madison after day one, Westfield’s two-day total of 617 bested runner-up Madison by 11 strokes. Read more

After the first round of the AAA State Championship at the Waterfront Country Club in Moneta, Virginia, the Northern Region is doing well. Westfield (312) is in first place and leads Madison by two strokes. Loudon Valley and James River, both at 327, are in third. Read more
The TOMI Putting Analysis

We have a junior scheduled for a Complimentary Putting Evaluation at the TOMI Putting Studio located at Washington Golf in Arlington, VA. We don’t know much about it and didn’t get much information about it when we scheduled the appointment. We will closely observe what is conducted during this 20 minute evaluation process. We think it will be the “initial putting analysis” service that is listed as a $30 service. We will approach it with a very open mind and provide an honest review and assessment after we take it all in. Read more

Westfield Wins Northern Regional by 4 Over Madison

The Westfield High School Golf Team played steady golf under less than ideal conditions (windy!!) yesterday to overcome a nine stroke deficit and win the Northern Region title by four over runner-up, Madison. Westfield and Madison will now be headed to the State tournament scheduled to be played at Waterfront Country Club on October 19 and 20.
Ji Soo Park, a junior at Chantilly High School, took home the individual title with the overall low combined score of 145 (70-75).
